Overview of Political Career
Ebrahim Sulaiman Sait was introduced into active politics when Late Abdus-sattar Haji Ishaq Sait, President of Malabar State Muslim League and who represented South India at the All India Muslim league in the pre-partition days took him to a convention in Madras where Qaid e Azam Mohammed Ali Jinnah was present. Sait sahib announced his entry into politics through a speech he gave in the Malabar district conference of Muslim Students Federation at Ponnani, Kerala, where his English speech was translated by late Janab Seethi Sahib, the then leader of Muslim League. He was accompanied to Ponnani by late Mr. Haji Abdus-Sattar Sait.
Sait sahib writes "The inspiration for my journey into politics was because of my father's cousin Haji Abdus Sattar who was in active politics. He fought election for central assembly in the days of separate electorate, and won in 1946 from South-West constituency. Later he joined Jinnah's Muslim League and became the whip of the party. Following the partition, he migrated to Pakistan and became Pakistan's ambassador to Egypt and Saudi Arabia."
